Eric Dannaoui, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor at Paris Descartes University, and head of the Mycology-Parasitology Unit in the Microbiology Department of the European Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris. His unit is currently part of the EUCAST AFST network Laboratories.

He completed a 2 years post-doctoral research fellowship at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 2000 and worked for several years (2002 – 2010) as a researcher in Medical Mycology at Pasteur Institute in Paris.

His research interests are focused on antifungal susceptibility testing and epidemiology/detection of antifungal resistance, both in vitro and in experimental animal models.

He recently participated to the ESCMID and ECMM joint clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and management of mucormycosis. He has been author or investigator in 125 publications. He is currently section editor of Journal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance, board member of Mycopathologia, and reviewer for many microbiology journals. He also serves as a board member of the French Society for Medical Mycology.
