Diego Falci is Professor of Medicine at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and Infectious Diseases Physician at the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, Brazil. He received his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 2000, completed his residency in Infectious Diseases at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) in 2003, his Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine at the UFRGS in 2009, and his Doctorate in Medicine: Pathology in 2015.
His research interests include the epidemiology, diagnosis and management of endemic mycoses. Dr Falci has a strong interest in epidemiological and public health aspects of fungal infections that could improve and underpin the decisions of stakeholders in the public and private health sectors, and how technology and innovation can contribute to these processes.
Diego Falci has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles and has been a speaker at several medical conferences. He currently serves on the board of the Brazilian Society of Infectious Diseases.
