Nikolai Klimko

Prof Nikolai Klimko is a chief of Department of Clinical Mycology, Allergy and Immunology in I.Mechnikov North Western State Medical University, Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Nikolai Klimko received his medical degree in Military Medical Academy, Saint Petersburg, Russia. He completed his postgraduate training at the Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

Nikolai Klimko is a member of professional societies, including Russian IACMAC, RSIA and ASCMAC. He is also a member of the ESCMID EUCAST and Aspergillosis Guidelines groups.

Prof Klimko serves on the editorial boards of a number of journals, including Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Problems in Medical Mycology, and Journal of Infectology.

Prof Klimko is chief editor of Russian national guideline «Diagnosis and treatment of fungal infection in ICU» (2010, 2015) and co-author of several Russian national guidelines. He has edited many books, including the “Mycoses: Diagnosis and Treatment”, and has authored or co-authored over 700 scientific papers.
