Philipp Köhler

Dr. Philipp Köhler is resident physician and specialist for emergency medicine at the Intensive Care Unit of the Department I of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Cologne, Cologne, Germany. He received his medical degree from Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne in 2012, where he also completed his residency. He is board certified in emergency medicine.

His clinical and scientific interests are focused on epidemiology, diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal infections in immunocompromised and critical care patients.

He is member of academic and scientific societies involved in hematology and in infectious diseases, including the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (Fungal Infection Study Group (EFISG) and Study Group for Infections in Critically Ill Patients (ESGCIP)), the International Society of Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), the European Hematology Association – SWG Infections in Hematology, the German Society of Hematology and Oncology – ID Working Group, the German speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) and the German Society of Infectiology (DGI).

He is editorial board member for Mycoses and a reviewer for numerous medical scientific journals.
