Marcio Nucci

Marcio Nucci is Professor of Medicine at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has been responsible for the Program of Infection in the Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation unit at the University Hospital for over 25 years. He has received his medical degree in 1981 from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State, has completed his residency in Hematology at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1985 and has trained in Infectious Diseases at Università la Sapienza, Roma, Italy in 1991.

His clinical and research interests include the epidemiology, diagnosis and management of invasive fungal diseases in immunocompromised hosts and infectious complications in in hematologic patients and hematopoietic cell transplant recipients.

Marcio Nucci has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and has been speaker in several medical conferences. He is past member of the Immunocompromised Host Society Council and the Mycosis Study Group Steering and Educational Committees, and is a reviewer of various medical scientific journals.
