Max Carlos Ramírez-Soto, BSc, MPH, PhD, Fellow Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) is professor and research in Centre for Public Health Research, School of Medicine, Universidad de San Martin de Porres, Lima, Peru. He graduated in Biological Sciences at the Universidad de San Antonio Abad del Cusco, Peru, and received his Public Health MSc degree from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru, and his Public Health PhD from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Peru. His research interests are in the epidemiology and diagnosis of infectious diseases and tropical medicine, with a focus on subcutaneous mycoses, viral hepatitis, dengue fever and emerging diseases. His main interest in medical mycology has been the study of the epidemiological and clinical aspects of sporotrichosis, for almost 15 years. Professor Ramírez serves on the editorial boards of several international biomedical journals and Academic Editor for PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases and PLOS Global Public Health. He is the author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in peer-reviewed journals.
