Dr. Jannik Stemler is an internal medicine physician undergoing specialty training in hematology and infectious diseases at University Hospital of Cologne. He is board certified in emergency medicine.
He is also a clinician scientist in the group of Prof. Oliver Cornely at the Institute of Translational Research at the University of Cologne since 2019.
His clinical and scientific interests are focused on epidemiology, diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal infections in immunocompromised patients. Furthermore, he is involved in the clinical development of novel anti-infective drugs as well as vaccine development. He performs observational studies for pharmacovigilance and drug-drug interactions of antifungals and novel hematological drugs and collaborates on the development of therapeutic drug monitoring methods.
He is member of several academic and scientific societies, including the European Hematology Association (EHA) – SWG Infections in Hematology, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), the International Society of Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), the German Society of Hematology and Oncology – ID Working Group, the German speaking Mycological Society (DMykG) and the German Society of Infectiology (DGI).
He is Associate Editor for Mycopathologia and editorial board member of Mycoses.
