Black Yeasts – Chaetotyriales Working Group, next Group meeting, Barcelona on 22–23 October 2026 – abstract submission deadline extended until 31 August
06-07-2026
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Black Yeasts – Chaetotyriales Working Group, I am pleased to announce that the next Group meeting will take place in Barcelona on 22–23 October 2026. The workshop website is now online, and registration and abstract submission are open:
We are pleased to have already received several registrations and relevant abstract submissions but, to broaden the scientific discussion further, the deadline for abstract submission has been extended until 31 August 2026.
A limited number of online presentations, primarily intended for young researchers with limited funding who may not be able to attend the meeting in person, will also be considered. If you would like to take this option, please indicate it by email after completing your registration and abstract submission.
Finally, we wish to clarify that relevant communications on allied black fungi and other stress-tolerant fungal groups outside the Chaetothyriales will also be accepted, particularly when they address topics aligned with the scope of the meeting, including medical mycology, ecology and phylogenetics, extremotolerance, and applied/biotechnological aspects.
Registration and abstract submission are available through the workshop webpage:
The webpage includes information on the scope and scientific themes of the meeting, as well as practical details about the venue, access, and local logistics to support travel planning. It will be progressively updated with additional information on travel, accommodation options, and other practical arrangements.
Please feel free to forward this message to colleagues in your networks who may be interested. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to welcoming you in Barcelona!
