New Definitions for invasive fungal diseases in adult patients in ICUs

Invasive fungal infections are on the rise in ICU patients, yet reliable and broadly applicable consensus definitions for defining invasive fungal infections in ICU patients have been lacking. Currently new broadly applicable definitions are created via the FUNgal infections Definitions in ICU patients (FUNDICU) project. The ECMM is proud to actively support and participate in this much needed initiative of ESMID, which is supported also by the Mycoses Study Group. The final definitions are expected to be published in late 2019.
