New Mexico VA Health Care System and University of New Mexico are seeking an Academic Infectious Diseases Specialist, open rank. The ideal candidate is an accomplished physician¬-investigator, including NIH or VA funding, and strong productivity as demonstrated by a track record of grants and peer-reviewed publications. Research focus in any aspect of fungal pathogenesis, antifungal drug discovery, clinical investigation of IFI’s, or any broad topic related to IFI’s is of particular interest. Lab space and startup package will be offered to the qualified candidate. Commitment to excellence in clinical medicine and education are also expected. The Section of Infectious Diseases is an integral component of the UNM Division of Infectious Diseases, and a major training site for the ID Fellowship Program. Academic appointment will be in the clinician-investigator tenure-track as a joint appointment with the UNM School of Medicine, Dept. of Internal Medicine, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Compensation includes an excellent benefits package. Applicants must have a medical degree, a valid state medical license and be BC/BE in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and/or hold an international equivalent.
