Jannes Heylen

Jannes Heylen, MD, graduated with great distinction in medicine at KU Leuven, Belgium. He is currently resident in training in Pulmonology at University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium. He combines his clinical work with translational research on respiratory fungal infections and viral reactivations in critically ill patients. Dr. Heylen is part of the research group led by Prof. Joost Wauters, which has a specific interest in deciphering the antifungal host response in critically ill patients and aims to develop host-based biomarkers able to guide clinicians in the management of invasive fungal disease.
