Dr. Kusum Jain is a medical mycologist with a Ph.D. from the University of Delhi. Her research focuses on antifungal resistance mechanisms, particularly in non-albicans Candida species such as Candida krusei, C. auris, and Lodderomyces elongisporus. She has published key findings on fungal persistence in healthcare environments and outbreak investigations in neonatal ICUs. Her work combines molecular epidemiology, antifungal susceptibility profiling, and pathogen genomics to improve clinical outcomes and infection control strategies.
