Dr. Adam Komorowski is a Canadian-Italian medical microbiologist and part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. Adam completed his medical training in Ireland and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health research methodology focused on whole genome sequencing at McMaster University. Adam’s fungal research interests include improving diagnostic testing for invasive fungal infections such as Candidozyma auris and Pneumocystis jirovecii, particularly in immunocompromised hosts. Adam’s other roles include membership in the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, and a 2024-2026 research fellowship in non-pharmacologic pandemic interventions through Kellogg College, University of Oxford.
