Dr. Martin-Souto is a postdoctoral researcher at the MicrobiomicsEHU group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Her primary focus is on immunoproteomics, with the goal of developing new diagnostic options, particularly for Cystic Fibrosis patients. She also studies fungal virulence factors in search of new therapeutic targets. Her research is conducted in collaboration with the Health and Medical University (HMU) and the CF-Centrum of the Klinikum Westbrandenburg in Potsdam, as well as the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin. She is an active member of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), the Young European Confederation of Medical Mycology (YECMM), the Spanish Society of Microbiology (SEM) and the Spanish Association of Mycology (AEM). Additionally, she is Review Editor for Fungal Pathogenesis (Frontiers) and also for Journal of Fungi (MDPI). She fulfils the dual role of clinical researcher and academic at the UPV/EHU.
