Dr. Arghadip Samaddar is Assistant professor in Department of Neuromicrobiology at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India. It is an Institute of National Importance, specialized in management of neurological diseases. His areas of expertise include Clinical Mycology, Invasive Fungal Infections, Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Stewardship. He is specifically working on Cerebral Phaeohyphomycosis, Fungal Biomarkers, Fungal Genomics, and Antifungal Resistance. He is the Executive Council Member of Indian Society of Medical Mycologists from South India and the Associate Editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology: Infectious Diseases. He is an active member of Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Mycoses Study Group Education and Research Consortium (MSGERC), International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), Indian Society of Medical Mycologists (ISMM), ISHAM Fungal Diagnostics Working Group, and Fungal Genomics Working Group. He is a reviewer in renowned international indexed journals, such as International Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID), Medical Mycology (ISHAM), Journal of Medical Mycology (SFMM), Microbiology Spectrum (ASM), Journal of Medical Microbiology, Microbiology Spectrum (ASM), Mycopathologia (ECMM). He has authored more than 35 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in training postgraduate students and microbiologists in medical mycology and neuroinfections.
