Dr Abdolrasouli is a clinical scientist in medical mycology at the King’s College Hospital, London, UK, and an honorary visiting research fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases Epidemiology at Imperial College London, where he completed his PhD. Ali obtained an MSc in medical microbiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2006. His main research interests include epidemiology of emerging fungal pathogens, laboratory diagnosis of fungal infections, identification of pathogenic fungi, fungal infections in cystic fibrosis, and antifungal resistance.
Ali has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for a wide range of scientific mycology journals and is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Medical Mycology Case reports. He is an executive committee member of the British Society for Medical Mycology. Ali enjoys teaching and delivers university lectures and contributes to the training of microbiology and infectious diseases clinicians.
