Lena Klingspor is Associate Professor in Clinical Mycology at Karolinska Institutet  and Senior Consultant at Stockholm CF Center, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Stockholm. She received her MD from Karolinska Institutet, Pediatric specialist degree from Danderyds Hospital. She specialized in Medical Mycology at the State Bacteriology Laboratory, and did a research fellowship in the Dep. of Transplantation Surgery at Huddinge Hospital, Stockholm.

She has been the medical director for the Clinical Mycology laboratories at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm.

She is past-President of the Swedish Society for Clinical Mycology (SSKM) and the ECMM delegate for of the SSKM and a founding member of Nordic Society of Medical Mycology (NSMM).

She is in the Laboratory and Clinical Working parties of European Aspergillus PCR Initiative (EAPCRI) and a member of the Fungal PCR Initiative (FPCRI) and principal investigator at Karolinska University Hospital, for the Pediatric Fungal Network (PFN). All are working groups in ISHAM.

She is the member of Scientific Committee (Mycology) of Clinical Microbiology and Infection and a reviewer for numerous medical scientific journals.

Her clinical and laboratory investigations for almost 30 years have focused on laboratory diagnosis and epidemiology of systemic fungal infections. Lena Klingspor is a dedicated teacher in Medical Mycology at Karolinska Institutet.
